The Student Business Incubation Studio's (BIS) mission is to support and facilitate the development of sustainable student businesses.
McNeese Student BIS Application:
Applicants must complete this application in its entirety to be considered for acceptance as a participant in the McNeese State University Student Business Incubation Studio (BIS). Applications will be reviewed by the administrators of the BIS. Following this process, an interview will be scheduled to discuss the business further. Acceptance into the BIS is under the sole discretion of the BIS administrators and affiliated selection committee.
At least one owner of the business must be a currently enrolled McNeese student. A student business is defined as a for-profit commercial business that is at least 51 percent owned by a currently enrolled McNeese student. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to participate. Students will be admitted on a semester basis and must demonstrate adequate progress and a viable business model in order to continue participation in subsequent semesters.
Participation and Requirements:
Students accepted into the BIS will be required to abide by all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Please see a BIS administrator for a copy.
The student should be able to meet the following criteria to gain acceptance into the program.
- The student should be in good academic standing.
- The student’s business concept is meaningfully unique.
- The student will agree to produce a viable business model.
- The student can articulate the business model and innovation.
- The student will locate both management offices and production facilities in Louisiana.
- The student is willing to adhere to policies and procedures of the program and facility.
