Innovation Engineering

What is Innovation Engineering?

Innovation Engineering is a groundbreaking program that provides a systematic approach to innovation.  While entrepreneurship programs focus on the act of starting a business, Innovation Engineering is a data-driven, replicable model for developing and commercializing meaningfully unique innovations with value in both new and established businesses. The fundamental concepts of the program include tools and methods for creating, communicating, and commercializing meaningfully unique ideas.

For students, it is offered as a minor that complements any major or field of study including the sciences, arts, humanities, business, engineering, allied health, and education. In the program, students learn how to employ the tools and methods of innovation in their field of interest. These skills are essential to participation in the global economy and will prepare graduates to lead the commercialization of new products, services and technologies within any industry or business.

Doug Hall is the founder and CEO of the Eureka! Ranch and the Innovation Engineering Management System, as well as a best selling author of 5 books. He possesses a unique balance of technical and business skills. He was educated as a Chemical Engineer who rose to the rank of Master Marketing Inventor at Procter & Gamble, where he set corporate records on creating and commercializing ideas.

He is presently in Year 27 of a 50-year personal mission to develop and deliver to companies, government and educational organizations the most reliable and effective systems for realizing continuous innovation. With the help of the US Department of Commerceʼs NIST/MEP Network, Doug is bringing the worldʼs most reliable innovation tools from big companies to all companies.

Through a partnership with the University of Maine Innovation Center, Innovation Engineering is offered to undergraduate students at McNeese State University.
